Jaysol
– Solvent Dyes are used in a number of application
areas such as
Spirit and oil wood and varnishes,
| |
|
| » |
Transparent
lacquers incorporating nitrocellulose, cellulose
acetate, vinyl, alkyd or other synthetic resins
or shellac. These are used for many purposes including
foil printing. |
| » |
Ink for typewriter ribbons
and ballpoint pens. |
| » |
Fats, Oils and Waxes
of all kinds for candles, sealing waxes and polishes. |
| » |
Mass coloration of molding
powders and other constructional materials of
polystyrene, polymethacrylates, PVC, Urea Formaldehyde,
Phenol Formaldehyde or other synthetic polymer
compositions. |
As the name implies, solubility in organic solvents
is a characteristic
property of Jaysol Solvent Dyes. These dyes are soluble
in a
variety of solvents such as:
| |
|
| » |
Alcohols
(eg: ethanol and methanol) |
| » |
Ester, Ethers and Ketones
(eg: ethyl acetate and acetone), |
| » |
Aliphatic and Aromatic
hydrocarbons (eg: mineral water, white spirit,
turpentine, benzene, toluene), |
| » |
Chlorinated hydrocarbons
(eg: perchloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride) |
| » |
Oils, fats and waxes (eg
stearic acid, paraffin wax) |
Jaysol Dyes give bright and transparent shades when
used in coloration of polymeric materials such as polystyrene,
polymethacyrlate etc. When used along with pigments
like titanium dioxide or zinc sulfide, opaque shades
can be obtained. Jaysol dyes have excellent light fastness
and heat suitability. Hence these dyes can be used under
high speed molding equipment and under high temperature
conditions without affecting final color values.
